I bought a set of these a few weeks back and like them just fine!

 

Harley mirror on top hinge. Fits under the seat when you run your doors. About $20.

That $20 solution sounds like it's about my speed/cost. Can you give me some more details on the mirror...size...where I might pick one up? Can I just go to a harley/mortorcyle shop to find one?

Just get one that has enough threads to clear the hinge. Ours is off the wife's Panhead

Taking my sales hat off here so take this for what it's worth (not much ).


I had a mirror that hooked into the hinge like that and it shook like crazy and kept coming loose and eventually the mounting part snapped off. It was this one http://www.quadratec.com/products/11047_920X_PG.htm#. Maybe it's because the arm is pretty long.

Dietech brackets FTW! They are pricey, they use your stock mirrors and they put them just about in the stock location. Most important aspect to me, NO VIBRATIONS!!!

 

I don't wear a hat, been swapping hers between the jeep and Pan for two seasons now. Believe me if it was to rattle apart it would be on the ridged frame pan.

I have the Mopar side mirror kit that has a bracket that bolts to the windshield bracket... the mirror bolts to that. The Mopar one isn't available anymore but Quadratec carries one just like it.

 

Don't run any. Here you only have to have one rear view mirror.

Thanks TX you're the second, aside from me, to like em! The things rock, sad more of you haven't figured that out!

 

Keep in mind that some of the new JKs have heated mirrors and there will be a wire to remove for some of the relocation brackets.

 

I just bought a replacement mirror from napa and then bolted it to a 90deg bracket from Lowes, add a vinyl washer and your set. Remove one bolt from the side of the windshield bracket and use it to attach the bracket and mirror. total cost for parts - $12, time to install and remove - under a min.

(I only run a driver side, I can turn my head for the passenger)

Been doin' the Harley mirror for 4 years. works great. fits in the middle compartment. $17 bucks at the time.

I run the Dietec brackets. They mount the mirror in the exact same place as the door. You can use the mirror off your door or do what I did, get a second set from the salvage yard. only takes a couple of minutes to put them on. Cost a bit more but its a very factory looking install.
